uscgpclogoI mentioned mid last month that there was the possibility of a Podcamp happening at this years Coast Guard Innovation Expo in Virginia Beach, VA (November 17-19)- well it’s now official and we’re moving ahead with it. Yesterday our official site, Podcamp USCG, was launched which will be the central information site leading up the day of the podcamp- 17 November 2009.

So what’ll we be doing? Well the short answer is ‘discussing all things social/new media.’ I don’t have all the details as of now but if you’re interested in how social media intertwines with the Coast Guard’s everyday workings on both the official and unofficial level this will be the place to learn more and discuss it.

So now what? This is going to be a first come first serve event with about 75 seats. The FREE tickets are available via Eventbrite; the unConference (I love saying that) will start at 0900 (9:00am) at the Virginia Beach Convention Center (1000 19th Street Virginia Beach, VA 23451). Just follow the signs to the room once you get there. I just ask that you only register for your tickets if you WILL be there.
